Before you jump to conclusions, let’s clarify that Kat’s emotional reason was not Salman Khan , who plays one of the film’s leading men. The reason was Katrina wanted to do a film with Subhash Ghai , whom she adores and respects as a filmmaker.Incidentally, Ghai had approached Katrina for the heroine’s role in Kisna . But Katrina couldn’t do the film (was Vivek Oberoi the reason?). Later, when Ghai approached Salman for the role in ‘Yuvvraaj’, Katrina herself volunteered and asked Ghai to cast her as the female lead. But Ghai told her that the story revolves around three brothers (Salman, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan ) in the film and Katrina would have a relatively smaller role.
Katrina says she did not care a hoot how long or how important her role in ‘Yuvvraaj’ was.
“I didn't care what my role was in this film. I just wanted to be in a film directed by Subhash Ghai…I just wanted to have a film directed by him in my filmography,” Katrina is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
Even though the story doesn’t revolve around her character, Katrina put herself to task and learnt to play some basic melodies on the cello for her role.
Now, this is called following your heart the professional way.
