Bollywood to highlight climate issues in live earth concert

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, his son and Bollywood heartthrob Abhishek, daughter-in-law and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and filmstar Hrithik Roshan will lead a host of Bollywood celebrities at a live concert to highlight solutions to the climate crisis and provide a platform for India to solidify its leadership role on climate issues.

Amitabh, Abhishek, Aishwarya and Hrithik will join global superstars like Roger Waters, Will I Am, Grammy winner Bon Jovi, Anoushka Shankar , Preity Zinta , Bipasha Basu, Shiamak Davar, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Hard Kaur, Jalebee Cartel, Vishal and Shekhar, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Shaan at a Live Earth India concert in Mumbai on December 7, aimed at highlighting personal and policy solutions to the climate crisis and offering support for Indias environmental issues and causes and providing a platform for the country to solidify its leadership role on climate issues.

Produced globally by Control Room and in partnership with local promoter and producers, Wizcraft International Entertainment, the concert will feature never-seen- before collaborations of western and Indian artists, a variety of musical genres from India hip-hop to American rock. Appearances and messages from former U S Vice- President Al Gore, IPCC Chairman and Director General TERI India Rajendra K Pachauri, environmental advocates and celebrities are expected as well. Live Earth India will reach millions of viewers world-wide on three of Stars highly popular channels across Asia and beyond: Star Plus in India, UK and West Asia feeds (global footprint); Star World in South East Asia, Hong Kong and India; and Channel[V] in India.
