Hot, sexy and vivacious Poonam Jhawer has hit out at a popular website that compared her to wannabe Sherlyn Chopra. Apparently, the well known entertainment portal ran a headlined feature titled “Meet the new Sherlyn Chopra”. Poonam who is busy shooting for a film in the South was unavailable for comment.However, speaking to the media on her behalf, Poonam Jhawer’s Media Manager said that Poonam has been in Bollywood for the last ten plus years. She has done about five music videos and 7-8 movies in all and is a senior professional. Her latest video will be out soon and Poonam is busy preparing for its release.
The concerned entertainment portal that has invoked Poonam’s ire,is part of a huge media conglomerate and runs General Entertainment and Business Channels, besides having substantial investment in the internet space.
The publicist said, “The website has the audacity to say meet the Sherlyn Chopra aspirant as though Chopra is some Angelina Jolie, Aishwarya Rai, or Madhuri Dixit. Any Bollywood artiste will want to aspire for something big if not the biggest and would target a very big name as a role model. We have nothing against Sherlyn Chopra and wish her all the best, but saying that Poonam Jhawer is a Sherlyn Chopra aspirant is not only incorrect, but also blasphemous and offensive. My client Poonam is very hurt at the statement and will address the media on this issue at a later date when she is in Mumbai”.
