One of the biggest Tollywood movies of all time is all set to become twice as colossal in Bollywood - the Hindi remake of Magadheera arrives, and get a load of the cast!Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan have been roped in for the lead roles in the yet-untitled film which will be produced by Allu Arvind and Madhu Mantena. The producing duo made 'Ghajini' with Aamir Khan, which went on to become the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time. And if what Mantena says is true, the Hindi Magadheera will be twice as large as Ghajini. Excited?
"Yes Allu Arvind and I are remaking `Magadheera` in Hindi. As for the cast, it`s too early to talk about it. But `Magadheera` is definitely being planned to be bigger than `Ghajini`," Mantena said.
In case you're Tollywood-challened, Magadheera has grossed Rs 70 crore as of now and has catapulted Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja to stardom. Now before you begin wondering about that number, know that Magadheera was not given a super-wide release across India, and the majority of that gross came from just the lone state of Andhra. At Rs 40 crore, Magadheera was the highest budgeted Telugu movie ever.
Coming to the interesting part - who will play the main characters? Both Hrithik and Aamir are strangers to negative roles (Hrithik's turn in Dhoom 2 wasn't really antagonistic). Will Hrithik play 'Kalabhairav', the fearless medieval warrior who gets reincarnated to kick the daylights out of Aamir Khan's 'Billa'? Or will Aamir play the hero? We can certainly imagine Hrithik as the hulking, raging antihero commandeering a vast army. Moreover, who will play the beautiful princess Mithra? Will Kajal Aggarwal reprise her role in the remake? Rest assured, fans of Ram Charan won't be pleased with the casting.
S. S. Rajamouli will return to the director's chair to remake Magadheera in Hindi. Reportedly, the remake will be much more polished and visually stunning than it's original version. Also, the story will be altered a bit for the sake of the Bollywood junta. Magadheera is set to release sometime in 2011 along with another Tollywood remake, Arundhati
